PBJ Connections Awarded $15,000
PATASKALA, OH (September 19, 2009):
PBJ Connections Inc., a nonprofit organization offering equine-assisted learning and therapy for children and teens, has been awarded a grant of $15,000 from the Harry C. Moores Foundation.
"This grant is designated to fund our DREAMS Program," said Executive Director Glenda Childress. "PBJ Connections offers equine-assisted therapy to members of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community. This generous grant will allow us to offer scholarships specficially to the Deaf and HOH who could not otherwise afford this type of mental health treatment."
PBJ Connections offers group, individual and family treatment options. Equine-assisted therapy has a long history of success at helping youths improve their communication skills and behaviors. PBJ Connections uses horses to teach clients to communicate better, express themselves in positive ways and develop problem-solving skills while boosting their self-esteem.
Founded in October 2006, PBJ Connections is a 501(c)3 organization that provides equine-assisted learning and therapy to area at-risk youth and their families.
