PBJ Connections Awarded $12,600
PATASKALA, OH (July 3, 2009):
PBJ Connections Inc., a nonprofit organization offering equine-assisted learning and therapy for children and teens, has been awarded a grant of $12,600 from the Robert J. McKeever Fund of The Columbus Foundation.
"This grant is designated to fund our PEERS Group Program," said Executive Director Glenda Childress. "PBJ Connections offers several groups which focus on appropriate communication skills, anger management, at-risk behavior avoidance and grief related issues. This generous grant will allow us to offer scholarships to families who could not otherwise afford this type of mental health treatment."
PBJ Connections offers group, individual and family treatment options. Equine-assisted therapy has a long history of success at helping youths improve their communication skills and behaviors. PBJ Connections uses horses to teach clients to communicate better, express themselves in positive ways and develop problem-solving skills while boosting their self-esteem.
Founded in October 2006, PBJ Connections is a 501(c)3 organization that provides equine-assisted learning and therapy to area at-risk youth and their families.
